Beauty favorites August 2022

This week, I’d like to highlight my most-used makeup products for August 2022. They are products that either helped me get ready faster or helped my makeup apply and look smoother. Here they are all lined up in a row!

From left to right, they are:

The Elf primer is supposed to be somewhat sticky and help your makeup wear better, but the reason I love it is that it keeps my foundation makeup from sinking into my pores as much. Lately everything is giving me the dreaded “polka-dot” cheeks, but not with this primer. It’s slightly green-tinted but goes on clear.

The two different eyeshadow sticks (Tarte and Laura Mercier) are great for quick application and look nice and not overdone. You really can’t make a mistake because they are subtle. I do usually use the Mac Paint Pot underneath as a first eyeshadow layer to cancel out any eyelid discoloration. This past month, I’ve been applying the Laura Mercier eyeshadow stick and using the Tarte stick for the brown eyeliner. The Caliray mascara is quick to apply and stays on all day without smudging. It is a bit hard to remove, though!

The Danessa Myricks “balm powder” is a light coverage face product that can be used under foundation or on its own. I’ve been wearing it alone and using some of the Doll 10 concealer for areas where I want to place more coverage. This combination gives me a natural-looking finish with coverage only where I need it. The Doll 10 is also suitable for use as a concealer under the eyes, but I usually use the Tarte undereye corrector. It has a slight peachy tone to cover blue or purple tones.

The LA Girl matte lip primer is great for making matte lipsticks look smoother. It acts like a lip balm but is not goopy or shiny. That's probably my best find of the month! It makes matte lipsticks so much more comfortable to wear.

Well, that's it for this week! I hope this gives you some ideas for products that are easy to use and quick to apply - maybe you even have something similar in your stash!
